A new Book by Rochelle Jones, available from Amazon and Ebay:
Love in Dark Places by Rochelle Jones, a story of the dangers of irresistible attraction and love that is not returned; sudden changes in the direction of lives, hopes and desires challenged by twists of fate. It is a story of one man's influence and negative effect on the lives of three women; a mother and her two daughters
The story centres around Enid, born into a poor area of London but raised from a very early age with her sister in a quiet Surrey village by her uncle and aunt after their mother was murdered. Enid expected little from life as she grew into adulthood, her only desire was to work in Uncle's bookshop in the quiet Surrey village where she had grownup - this was, after all, the only place that she knew. She was happy reading about the world in the books that surrounded her.
However, her world changes as she finds herself being swept into a marriage that she does not really want and in which she never felt comfortable. It was into this life that she was settling when one day everything changed for her, her path crossed with that of Seth, a man for whom she felt an immediate and irresistible attraction. He appeared one day in the quiet village, a stranger who seemed to have no business there. Despite his making it clear that he felt nothing for her, and at times in insulting terms, he dominated her thoughts and she could not resist him. For Enid, life changed the moment she first saw him and, for her, life could never be the same again.
And so it was that Enid found her life darkened by an encounter with a man who thought nothing of her, and yet he would force her to change her life completely, she would have to leave her home for the birth of her unborn child. And yet, even when she had thought she had escaped the past and made a new life for herself and her daughters, the shadow of the man who had so changed her life and thrown it into such chaos reappeared. However, this time not only drawing her back into darkness, but also draw in her daughters - threatening to destroy all that Enid had made for herself and her family.
For Mary, Enid's elder daughter from her marriage, learning of Seth's existence and his place in her mother's life was traumatic, for she had always idolised the father she had never met, lost on missionary work in Africa even before she was born, this would change her relationship with her mother for ever. She was prepared to hate this man who had influenced her mother, but when she found herself in his presence and spoke with him, she found that hate evaporated... but for Enid, she feared there would be a cost that could not be met.
And then there was Susan, her other daughter. She did not know that her father was not the same as that of her elder sister. For her, at first, Seth brought great excitement and brief happiness, but her happiness soon changed to revulsion and disgust.
Though this man was the greatest influence in the lives of all three women, they did not really know about him, even his true name proved illusive. He was known to them as Seth, but there was reason to believe this was not his true name, so there was little they could know about him that was certain except his ability to bring trouble and wreak havoc whenever and wherever he appeared. So who was this Seth, it seemed no-one knew where he came from except that he was originally from Ireland. What had made him the man he was. The more that was known about him the more questions arose and the more alarming he seemed, for it was clear that he was a dangerous man to know.
